Exploring OTRADNOE in Leningrad Region, Russia with Sanctioned Shipbuilding Plant

Live stream exploring Otradnoe, the town in Leningrad region of Russia. It is founded 1708 as a countryside community for St Petersburg nobility.
Russian Empress Catherine II loved this place on a bank of Neva river a lot. It was a “joy for her eyes”. That’s why the settlement got the name “Otradnoe” (comes out of Russian word “otrada” what means the “joy”). And in 1785-1794, by the project of Ivan Starov was built a very great palace and park ensemble there. Catherine used to say that all her palaces are just a shacks compared to this!
But right after the death of Catherine II, her son an Emperor Paul I totally dismantled Otradnoe Palace and used the material for construction of his St Michael’s Palace in St Petersburg.
Nowadays, Otradnoe mostly known for its “Pella” shipbuilding plant which is recently under the western sanctions.

@@user-mw7hl6ct6d Да много что не показали.Спортивный комплек,школы ,колледж. Он в лесу, там такая красота А памятники на реке Тосно,в начале Отрадного.Там такие страшные бои были.Все же не покажешь Летом наш городок очень красивый.Цветов,зелени мног.
